1. General info about the topic

  • Definition/What it does

In the system, Resellers are third parties using a direct link to get the right information to be able to make bookings in their own system and get the bookings made in their system automatically in MXTS/NWS.

  • Where to be found/configured in Newyse/MXTS:

In MXTS a Connection Dashboard can be found in the Channel Manager. The Connection Dashboard does show the following information:

Image Modified

This part is showing how the information is exchanged, the frequency of exchanging data and when it was done for the last time.

In the Locations tab, per location is shown what the number if linked accommodation types, units and rate types is.

Image Modified

In the tab Connection Update Details, the status per linked accommodation (type) is shown.

When clicking on >, the upload details of the chosen accommodation (type) will be shown.

Via Maxxton Software, the stopsell can be added too. This can be done via the Rate Manager in 2 ways:

Image Modified * Via menu item Rates. Choose a resort, accommodation kind and/or accommodation type and make sure the resellers are selected (can be selected at “show display option”). Choose a date for which the stopsell needs to be added or removed, and choose the corresponding item. If you click on a stopsell icon and you hover over the several icons, you can see a short explanation which icon to use for what. (All, Block Reseller, Reduce with number, Reduce to number)

  • Via menu item Batch updates. Via a new batch update, stopsell can be modified in bulk. First choose to which locations, resellers, accommodations and/or rate types it’s related, select the related accommodations and define in the third step for which dates and which resellers, what kind of stopsell you would like to use.

It's not possible yet to do the whole base configuration of the connection in MXTS. Therefor it's necessary to go to Newyse:

Through Marketing/Reseller the module can be opened.

On this tab all technical settings can be done.

On the tab Linked Resources the accommodation (types) which are bookable can be added and maintained and also Rate types can be selected.

On the tab Stop Sale, three options can be chosen to restrict the sale through the Reseller:

  1. Blocking: the type will not be bookable anymore for this reseller.
  2. Lowering: **set a fixed number of bookable accommodations in a type.
  3. Restriction: lower the availability with a number (actual availability minus the mentioned quantity).

In the Settings also the following restrictions can be handled:

  • The reseller setting exclude.reservable.quantity makes sure the last x accommodation(s) can’t be booked via Reseller. This is set to prevent overbookings will be created, since the availability is not updated every second, but once per 15 minutes. The number which is set in this setting, will be excluded from the reservability of the accommodation type which is send to Reseller. For example, the type level reservability is 5 and the setting is defined as 2. In that case, 3 will be send as availability to Reseller.

  • The reseller setting “reseller.stopsale.before.arrival” blocks you to make reservations for an arrival within x days. If it’s set on 2, it will be possible to arrive from the third day from now on (with today’s book date of 10-02-2019, the first arrival will be possible from 12-02-2019).
  • Example(s) - 3 examples of practical use of the topic.

Most common Resellers which do have a direct connection with the system are Booking.com, AirBnb and Expedia. For these Resellers, the described settings can be used.

2. Most common questions/issues and of course the solution per issue - Max. 3 examples of issues/solutions.

In case a reservation could not be imported successfully, an error message is send to Maxxton. These errors are checked on its genuineness. The error messages are added in a ticket so the client can take action for it. The reason of the failure of a reservation request (confirmation, modification and/or cancellation) is mentioned in the error message in the ticket.

There’s monitoring on the technical part of the link as well. If for example the upload of prices are getting failed for a specific resource (accommodation type), Maxxton will receive an e-mail with details of the upload failure. The connection team of Maxxton will try to fix the issue as soon as possible. If the help of the client is needed, the ticket will be updated and  assigned to the client.

3. What is required for Maxxton to resolve the issue

...

Mostly the system itself will __ push notifications when an issue has occurred. When someone mentions an issue, the details should be added like:

  • reseller
  • accommodation type
  • period
  • reservation number
  • issue in detail
