Move reservation to any other unit within the selected location
The purpose of this article is to explain how the user can simply move a reservation via the planning chart to any other unit within the selected location. Any configuration/preferences and other conditions related to the current booked unit, will be ignored.
This feature is available in the Front office manager => Planning chart only.
This feature is not available in the Reservation manager.
Permissions
Feature flag should be enabled to be able to see the related permissions in the Back office manager, ask our Customer Success team to enable this.
Activate below permission to allow the user to use this feature.
Change reservation to any other unit
Based on the activated feature flag and permission, it will now be possible to move any reservation to any other unit within the selected location.
Move a reservation having a unit booked from allotment to a non-alloted unit
Move a reservation having a non-alloted unit to a unit that can only be booked from allotment
Move a reservation with unit preference to any other unit
Move a reservation with amenity preference to any other unit
Move a reservation with a pet booked to a unit where no pets are allowed
Move a reservation from accommodation type A to a unit of accommodation type B having the same max. capacity allowed
Move a reservation from accommodation type A to accommodation type B having a different max. capacity allowed
While moving any reservation to any other unit, the user will get some insight of the matching/non-matching criteria
The blue colored ones match with the criteria in the current reservation, moving to one of these units will allow the user to move the reservation to the selected unit and reservation will be updated, similar to what happens when changing the unit in the reservation via the Reservation manager. Moving to another accommodation type will look similar to what is displayed using the upgrade in the Reservation manager (Price difference without changing the reservation bill)
The red colored ones do not match with at least one of the criteria in the current reservation. Moving to a red one will show the user a popup with explanation of the non-matching criteria. The user is able to continue and the reservation will be updated to the selected unit. it is also possible to cancel this action and select another unit, red or blue colored.
Upsell
Within this feature, it will also be possible to use the upsell when the guest is willing to move to a more expensive accommodation type and a possible extra rate can be charged.
Using the change unit option will show the user a third option => Upsell.
Clicking on the Upsell button will redirect the user to the selected reservation in the Reservation manager to continue the upsell flow
