Introduction

To improve capacity management, the option to set a maximum number of cars per unit for reservations is introduced. This ensures that the system enforces vehicle limits based on the accommodation type, preventing over-allocations when adding car details. With this enhancement, managing parking and accommodation capacity becomes more efficient and seamless.

Prerequisites

1. The feature flag Vehicle registration on accommodation type level should be enabled.

2. Vehicle capacity must be configured at the accommodation type level in the Content Manager.

Access

Vehicle capacity at accommodation type level and subsequently at unit level can be configured in the Content Manager.

Validation of the setup can be performed in the Reservation Manager and Front Office Manager.

Configuration

Configuring vehicle capacity

In the Content Manager, navigate to the Accommodation types screen. Select the desired accommodation type and set the maximum number of vehicles in the Capacity tab.

Open

This capacity is automatically inherited by all units associated with the selected accommodation type. If needed, the vehicle capacity can be overridden at the unit level.

Verifying the configuration

The configuration can be verified in the Reservation Manager and the Front Office Manager for both existing and new reservations:

Reservation Manager

1. Navigate to the specific reservation.

2. In the Customer details tab, select Travel party. Click on the Add vehicle option in the Vehicles section. The Select Accommodation drop-down is displayed. Select relevant accommodation and click on Save changes.

3. Select the Add vehicle option to add additional vehicles to the selected accommodation type. Once the maximum vehicle capacity is reached, a callout message is displayed, and no further vehicles can be added to the reservation.

For new reservations, the vehicle capacity configuration can also be verified in the Customer details section during the reservation creation process.

Front Office Manager

In the Check in/out screen, select the relevant reservation. Add additional vehicles to the selected accommodation type. Once the maximum vehicle capacity is reached, a callout message is displayed and no further vehicles can be added to the reservation.
