The overall configuration for housekeeping can be visualized by using a mindmap which is shown underneath.

There are five main factors that have an influence on the housekeeping which are the red ones. The blue ones are related to the red ones, where the red ones form the category for the blue ones.

Those five main factors are:

  • Duties
    • Duties can be triggered to be planned on five different triggers:
      • By accommodations, for instance if a duty is only to be scheduled for a specific amenity. For instance a duty 'poolcleaning' should only be scheduled if the accommodation has a pool.
      • By used DC/RC. If the accommodation is booked via a DC or RC that represents an owner booking, another cleaning could be planned due to the fact that owners may clean accommodations on their own.
      • By moment of cleaning. The hotel industry, for instance, have different cleanings as cleanings on a holiday park where a cleaning is only conducted at the check out of a guest. In the hotel industry, cleanings such as daily cleanings or linen cleanings (once every three days) exist.
      • By subjects. If a dog is added in the reservation, a duty (that gives the cleaner more time due to the stay of the dog) could be configured, that is only triggered when a dog is added as subject
      • By products. For instance when adding a childbed to the booking, this bed should be entered into the accommodation by housekeeping employees.
  • Products
    • Those products can have an influence on your duties as discussed above.
  • Employees
    • Those relate to KM accounting, as they are the ones that are travelling the kilometers and should declare this
  • Sector
    • The sector can be configured in a way that different locations can be taken into on sector which will enable optimal routing. Optimal routing could be useful when the KM accounting is starting to get shape.
  • Accommodations
    • Accommodations can have amenties or an owner that can trigger a duty as discussed at the duties part above.
