The required permission for having this menu available in Operations Manager is Operations Manager - Maintenance configuration |
Basics
Work order items are used to define a bit more detail of the work order (besides the category) of the work order, an example of an item can be 'central heating not working' where the work order category could be 'heating'. Additional information on work order items that could be useful are:
- A work order category can be marked as 'periodical' or 'inspection', which means that those categories will be used in the periodical task or inspection flow within Maxxton Software.
- A work order item can be linked to a locations, areas and work order categories, so items can be made relevant for specific locations, areas or work order categories which means non-relevant items can be filtered out and won't be given as an option during the creation process of a work order.

If no location or area is linked to a work order item, it means the item is valid for all locations and areas. This also means that when just one location or area is linked, this is an exception and all non-selected entities won't be valid. Additionally, when it comes to work order category linking; there's a huge benefit in making sure only one category is linked per item. Why? This will simplify the creation process of a work order for all operational modules |
Additional features
There's a possibility to configure an item as a 'Quick-Solve'. This means that, within the Operations application, the user doesn't have to go through all screens but can already close a work order by long pressing it in an earlier screen. This is getting used for jobs that are happening quite often and take, relatively, more time to complete in the application compared with completing it in real life.
How to configure that?
Within MXTS, the desired item should be selected in order to start configuring this.
- Once you've selected the required work order item
- There's an advanced settings button on the right top which opens a drawer from the right side of the screen.
- In here, the user can enable the quick solve toggle whereafter a default solution and worktime should be configured. Those will be used to complete the work order with.
