Pages

Pages consists out of several widgets that are configured, and styled, to display content on a web-page in the specific and/or required way. When you first create a page it will not be listed in the sitemap and hence will not be available to the public. This gives you the freedom to play around and discover new features and options without the fear of anything being publicly accessible without your permission.  When your page is ready to be discovered by others, simply add it to the sitemap and give it a friendly URL.  While working on your page you can preview it by using the 'Preview' function, which let you instantly see the changes you have made, or use the 'View On Site' which opens a new window and give you an even more realistic view on how your page will look like.

How to Configure Pages

Step. 1 Create the page

Navigate yourself to the 'Pages' tab in the Web Manager, click on the button 'Create Page', define the mandatory fields and click on the button 'Create.

Step 2. Configure the hierarchy

Web Manager let you build your page with widgets structured in a hierarchy. Meaning that what is on top will also be on top of your page. You can drag and drop widgets to your hierarchy and move them around until you find a perfect fit for your content. Now the 'Preview' options and 'View On Site' options comes in handy. With 'Preview' you can instantly see your creations come alive while you work, and 'View On Site' opens your page in a new window and you can see how it will look for a visitor.

Step 3. Add your page to the Sitemap

If your page is ready to visible for people outside the Web Manager you can now add it to the Sitemap. Navigate to the 'Sites' tab in the Web Manager menu and click on the correct hostname. In the Widget bar you will find your site, drag it into the sitemap hierarchy and click 'Save'. After this you need to add a friendly URL. Click on the 'edit' button on your page widget and insert the URL you want, remember that the hostname (e.g. google.com) will be automatically added, so you just need to add e.g. /map. The URL to enter your page are then google.com/map.
