Optimise Rates

Optimise Rates

Rates are optimized by collection, by date of stay. This means that a rate option may be affected by different price changes.

Example

Rates are optimised for 1 week, Monday until Sunday.

  • Monday -10%
  • Tuesday -5%
  • Wednesday -5%
  • Thursday +5%
  • Friday +5%
  • Saturday +10%
  • Sunday 0%

Rate option for 1 day, starting on Monday, will be: <original_rate> * 100% + -10% = <original_rate> * (1 - 0.10)

Rate option for 3 days, starting on Friday, will be: <original_rate> * 100% + (1/3 * +5% + 1/3 * +10% + 1/3 * 0%) = <original_rate> * (1 + 0.05)

Rate option for 5 days, starting on Monday, will be: <original_rate> * 100% + (1/5 * -10% + 1/5 * -5% + 1/5 * -5% + 1/5 * +5% + 1/5 * +5%) = <original_rate> * (1 - 0.01)

Rate option for 7 days, starting on Monday, will be: <original_rate> * 100% + (1/7 * -10% + 1/7 * -5% + 1/7 * -5% + 1/7 * +5% + 1/7 * +5% + 1/7 * +10% + 1/7 * 0%) = <original_rate> * (1 + 0.00)

In this example, the weekend is more expensive, while the midweek is cheaper. The weekly rate was not affected at all.
