Calamity fund add-on

The Calamity Fund is a Dutch foundation, whose aim is to provide financial support for travelers whose journey has already been interrupted by a calamity. You, as a traveler, pay the compulsory public contribution of € 2.50 per booking (max. 9 people). For bookings of less than € 150 and for bookings of transport or accommodations in the Netherlands, no Emergency contribution has to be paid, but travelers are covered for calamities.
In Content Manager, you can create these costs in the form of an add-ons. For ease of configuration, you can first create an add-on type as 'Calamity fund'. You can add rates for this add-on for this add-on type. You can also configure a minimum threshold accommodation rent for which Calamity fund should be added in the bookings.
How to set up Calamity fund add-on?
The set up of Calamity fund is based on feature flag. Contact @support.maxxton.com for enabling this feature.
Setting up Add-on type Calamity fund
- Backoffice manager > Roles > Enable permission 'Content Manager - Add-on types'
- Content Manager > Add-ons > Manage add-on types
3. Create add-on type by clicking on 'New add-on type'. Add desired name, for example, 'Calamity fund'. Choose the type of charge as Fees (see below).
4. When add-on type is created, then enable the setting 'Calamity fund' in that add-on type (see below).
5. Once this setting is enabled, you can configure rates for this add-on type by choosing 'Subject based rate' option and then 'Specify rate for group of persons' to configure rate of € 2.5 for 9 pers. (Optional step)
You can also configure the minimum threshold accommodation rent for which Calamity fund should be added in the bookings (see below). Note: All rates are only for Euro(€) currency. (Optional step)
Setting up Add-ons using the Add-on type Calamity fund
- Create add-ons of type Calamity fund when the add-on type configuration is finished.
- To create add-ons, go to Add-ons. Click on 'Create new add-on'. Choose the Add-on type as 'Calamity fund' (or the name you provided while creating new add-on type).Fill in name, code, description for this add-on.
3. To copy the default rate configuration added at add-on type level, the toggle 'Create default rate for calamity fund add-on' should be ON. Then rates created at add-on type level will automatically be copied for newly created add-ons. Click on 'Create add-on'
4. New add-on gets created and the rates get copied as well.
Setting up Calamity fund as mandatory add-on for bookings
- To link this Calamity fund add-on to accommodation types as mandatory add-on, go to Add-ons > Calamity fund (newly created add-on)
- Navigate to the 'Linked accommodation types' card.
3. Click on 'Link accommodation types', choose the accommodation types which you wish to link to this add-on. If you have configured the minimum threshold accommodation rent for applying Calamiity fund, at the add-on type level, then this value will be copied when this add-on is linked for one or more accommodation types as mandatory add-on.
Things to remember
- All the rate configurations for Calamity fund are in Euro (€) currency.
- It is optional to create rate and minimum booking rent value for the add-on type Calamity fund. If you choose to not add this configuration at the add-on type level then you will be required to manually add the rates and minimum booking rent value for all add-ons which you create using this add-on type.
- Once an add-on type is created as 'Calamity fund' and you have created add-ons using this add-on type, then it is not allowed to change the settings of this add-on type.
- There can only be one add-on type with the setting as 'Calamity fund'
