Reseller Configuration

All the configuration related to linking of Accommodations/Units to a specific Reseller is conducted in ‘reseller Connection’ under the Configuration module.

Link new reseller

Step-by-step:

  1. Open the Integration Manager module

  2. Select ‘Reseller Connection’ under Configuration, here you wo

  3. uld see all the existing resellers that you have opted for, if you wish to connect with a reseller that is not in the list, then click on ‘Activate new connection’

  4. A new window will popup, select the Reseller you wish to opt for and click on ‘Save’ button

By doing this the reseller will be created in the system, however other configuration related to reseller linking needs to be carried out and so you can get in touch with Maxxton’s support connection team for the same

Link new Accommodation Type(s)

Step-by-step:

  1. Open the Integration Manager module

  2. Select ‘Reseller Connection’ under Configuration, here you would see all the existing resellers that you have opted for. Select the reseller you wish to make linking’s for. (Example- Select Booking.com)

  3. Now in Booking.com go to the “Linked accommodation types” card and click on ‘Activate new accommodation types’

  4. A new window will popup, select desired ‘Location’ from dropdown and then you will see all the available accommodation-types under that location that are available for linking.

    Please note that Only those Accommodation-types will appear in the result for whom the Booking.com DC has been added in the valid representation. (Refer below picture & also read ‘Did you know’)

  5. Select correct Distribution Channel if it doesn’t appear on its

  6. Enter valid Booking.com Hotel code.
    Please note that you will have to enter the Hotel-code while making linking of the 1st accommodation of the selected Location. From the next time onwards the Hotel-code will appear on its own when you would select the Location.

  7. Now select desired accommodation(s) and enter there valid Booking.com Room code and then click on ‘Next’ button.

    Please note that ‘Next’ button will only appear when all the Asterisk * marked fields are filled in.

  8. Step 2nd – ‘Select rate-type’, in this step you will have to linking Rate-type(s) for the selected accommodation(s). Select desired rate-type(s) from the list for individual accommodation and enter valid Booking.com Rate-code

    Note- If multiple rate-types are available you can even link more than one at the same time.
    Explanation for the ‘Booking.com Inherited rate’ Toggle is visible if user hover on the ‘i’ icon. (Refer below picture).

  9. Click on the ‘Next’ button once all the mandatory fields (Asterisk * marked) are filled in

  10. Step 3rd - ‘Summary’, this step will give you complete overview of all the details you have entered in previous 2 steps. Please go through the same and click on ‘previous step’ incase you need to do some changes in the linking OR if everything is fine then click on ‘Finish’ button.

    Following above steps you will link accommodation-type(s), and if all the configuration related to availability and rates are correct, uploads will be done when the next job-scheduler runs for price & availability. 

Link new Accommodation Type(s) for Booking.com Content API

Step-by-step:

  1. Open the Integration Manager module

  2. Now in Booking.com go to the “Linked accommodation types” card and click on ‘Activate new accommodation types’

  3. A new window will popup, select desired ‘Location’ from dropdown and then you will see all the available accommodation-types under that location that are available for linking. However, because you wish to link this Location through Content API, you will have to switch ON the toggle button for “Property content create/update”.
    Once this option is selected, you will have to not enter Booking.com hotel code & Booking.com Room code, you just have to select the desired Acco-type from the list and click on ‘Next step’ button

  4. Now in the next step 'Select rate-type’, you will have to linking Rate-type(s) for the selected accommodation(s). Select desired rate-type(s) for the individual accommodation and click on ‘Next step’ button. Even here you do not have to enter Booking.com Rate-code

  5. In the ‘Summary’ step you will get complete overview of all the details you have entered in previous 2 steps. Please go through the same and click on ‘previous step’ incase you need to do some changes in the linking OR if everything is fine then click on ‘Finish’ button.

How to Activate OR Deactivate existing Acco-type Linking

  1. Open the Integration Manager module and select the ‘Reseller’ for which you want to make changes

  2. Go to ‘Linked accommodation types’ card and now filter out the accommodation linking which you wish to activate/deactivate

  3. If there are multiple Rate-code linked than there will be separate linking per rate-code. As seen in the screenshot there are two linking’s for Booking.com room-code: 22421, one linking is of Rate-code: 34546 and another one is of rate-code: 171287. If you wish to ‘re-Activate’ linking of rate-code 34546, than simply click on the ‘Inactive’ button to again ‘Activate’ the same. (refer to screenshot)

    Similarly if you wish to ‘Deactivate’ the linking, for example if you wish to deactivate linking of rate-code: 171287, then simply click on ‘Active’ button and click on the ‘confirm’ button in the pop-up to ‘Inactive’ the linking for that rate-code. (Refer screenshot)

Link multiple rates to already existing Accommodation linking

  1. Open the Integration Manager module and select the ‘Reseller’ for which you want to make changes

  2. Go to ‘Linked accommodation types’ card and now filter out the accommodation linking for which you want to link multiple rate-codes and click on ‘Activate new rates’ button

  3. This will now open a pop-up window in which you will first have to select the MXTS rate-type that you wish to link for this accommodation, now enter the ‘Rate-code’ of the Reseller. Then if applicable user can select other options by turning on the toggle button for them and finally click on “Confirm” button. User can also linking multiple Rate-type with multiple reseller-rate-code by clicking on (+) button (Refer screenshot)

Link multiple rates to already existing Accommodation linking (Booking.com Content API)

  1. Open the Integration Manager module and select the ‘Reseller’ for which you want to make changes

  2. Go to ‘Linked accommodation types’ card and now filter out the accommodation linking for which you want to link multiple rate-codes and click on ‘Activate new rates’ button

  3. This will now open a pop-up window in which you will first have to select the MXTS rate-type that you wish to link for this accommodation. Now because the Acco-type linking have the toggle ON for option “Property content create/update“, you do not have to enter the ‘Rate-code’ of the Reseller. Then if applicable user can select other options by turning on their toggle button(s). User can also linking multiple Rate-type with multiple reseller-rate-code by clicking on (+) button (Refer screenshot). Once everything has been selected, kindly click on “Confirm” button to save the changes.

Stop Sell

Stop sell is a feature through which availability can be restricted for a specific distribution channel (DC). This feature is extensively used when a user wants to stop/restrict availability of a specific Acco-type at Resellers side.

Types of Stop-sell

  1. Block 🚫
    'Block' is the type of stop-sell through which you can completely restrict the availability of the Acco-type on reseller side.

  2. Lower ⬇

    'Lower' is the type of stop-sell through which you can lower the availability of the Acco-type and send the remaining availability to reseller.
    For example: Acco-type ‘1 Bedroom’ has in total 10 units under same and all are available for the future dates. Now if you want to only send 6 out of 10 as availability to reseller, then select the ‘Lower’ stop-sell and enter the value as 4. System will take the available units quantity of 10 and less it by 4 and send remaining quantity of 6 as availability to reseller. Now for a certain date if 23 units are already booked out of the 10 units of that Acco-type, then system will less 4 (stop sell value) from the available quantity of 7 units and send 3 as available quantity to reseller

  3. Restrict S

    'Restrict' is the type of stop-sell where you can define the number of availability that you want to send to reseller. No matter how many units are available under an Acco-type for a date, system will only send the number of availability that is defined in 'Restrict stop sell.
    For example: Acco-type ‘1 Bedroom’ has in total 10 units and if you define the ‘Restrict’ stop-sell as 3, then system will only send 3 as available quantity to the reseller. But if there are bookings on the units for specific date range and for those date range there are only 2 units available, then system will send availability as 0 to the reseller.

Stop-sell can be configured for an accommodation type from 'Rates Manager' in two different ways:

  1. Update Stop-sell from “Rates”
    Open the ‘Rates Manger’ and click on ‘Rates', click on the setting icon and make sure that the check box for the 'Resellers’ is ON.


    Now close the setting drawer and select the desired Acco-type from the search bar and scroll down till you see “Resellers” option. Here all the resellers opted by you will be visible.


    As already explained previously you can select from any of the three options (Block 🚫 , Lower ⬇ & Restrict S ) and add Stop-sellfor that specific Acco-type for the specific date.

    How to add stop-sell⬇🚫

    1. Block 🚫 : So while adding stop-sell just select this ‘Block’ option for the specific date or date rang and the Acco-type should get blocked/locked for that date (only for the DC used for linking in the reseller)

    2. Lower ⬇ : As seen in below screenshot, click on the specific date and then click on the down arrow ⬇ icon which is basically denotes 'Lowering stop-sell'. Now enter the desired number

Unit Level Linking for Reseller Airbnb

Step-by-step:

  1. Open the Integration Manager module

  2. Select ‘Reseller Connection’ under Configuration, here you would see all the existing resellers that you have opted for. Select the reseller you wish to make linking’s for. (Example- Select Airbnb)

  3. Now in Airbnb go to the “Linked accommodation types” card and click on ‘Activate new accommodation types’

  4. A new window will popup, select the desired ‘Location’ from the dropdown and select the Airbnb DC, then you will see all the available accommodation types under that location that are available for linking.

    Please note that Only those Accommodation-types will appear in the result for whom the Airbnb DC has been added in the valid representation. (Refer to below picture & also read ‘Did you know’)

  5. Enter valid Airbnb Hotel code.
    Please note that you will have to enter the Hotel-code while making linking of the 1st accommodation of the selected Location. From the next time onwards the Hotel-code will appear on its own when you would select the Location.

  6. Now select the desired accommodation(s) and turn ON the toggle button for ‘Unit level linking’ and click on ‘Next’ button.
    Please note that ‘Next’ button will only appear when all the Asterisk * marked fields are filled in.

  7. Step 2nd – ‘Select rate-type’, in this step you will have to linking Rate-type(s) for the selected accommodation(s). Select desired rate-type(s) from the list for individual accommodation
    Note- Airbnb does not support multiple Rate-type linking

  8. Step 3rd - ‘Select units’, in this step select the desired unit(s) under the accommodation type that you selected before. You can select multiple units at the same time. After selecting the unit(s) click on “Next step” button in the bottom right corner

  9. Step 4th - ‘Summary’, this step will give you a complete overview of all the details you have entered in previous 3 steps. Please go through the same and click on ‘previous step’ in case you need to do some changes in the linking OR if everything is fine then click on the ‘Finish’ button.

Note: This is how the Unit level linking is made for the Airbnb reseller. Making these linkings does not ensure the units are Live as they will only go LIVE once the scheduled Jobs for data-type ‘Property content create/update, Availability & Price’ run successfully. Kindly make use of the ‘Reseller Dashboard’ for monitoring if the uploads have been successful or failed for the linked Unit(s). If failed, then check the failure response on the reseller dashboard itself and make the necessary configuration change. Later again check the fresh uploads once the Job runs.

Unit Level Linking for Reseller HomeAway

Step-by-step:

  1. Open the Integration Manager module

  2. Select ‘Reseller Connection’ under Configuration, here you will see all the existing resellers that you have opted for. Select the reseller ‘Homeaway’ from the list.

  3. Now in HomeAway go to the “Linked accommodation types” card and click on ‘Activate new accommodation types’

  4. A new window will popup, select the desired ‘Location’ from the dropdown and select the Homeaway DC, then you will see all the available accommodation types under that location that are available for linking.

    Please note that only those Accommodation-types will appear in the result for whom the Homeaway DC has been added in the valid representation. (Refer to the below picture & also read ‘Did you know’)

  5. Enter valid Homeaway Hotel code.
    Please note that you will have to enter the Hotel-code while making linking of the 1st accommodation of the selected Location. From the next time onwards the Hotel-code will appear on its own when you would select the Location.

  6. Now select the desired accommodation(s) and turn ON the toggle button for ‘Unit level linking’ and click on ‘Next’ button.
    Please note that ‘Next’ button will only appear when all the Asterisk * marked fields are filled in.

  7. Step 2nd – ‘Select rate-type’, in this step you will have to linking Rate-type(s) for the selected accommodation(s). Select desired rate-type(s) from the list for individual accommodation
    Note- Homeaway does not support multiple Rate-type linking

  8. Step 3rd - ‘Select units’, in this step select the desired unit(s) under the accommodation type that you selected before. You can select multiple units at the same time. After selecting the unit(s) click on “Next step” button in the bottom right corner

  9. Step 4th - ‘Summary’, this step will give you a complete overview of all the details you have entered in previous 3 steps. Please go through the same and click on ‘previous step’ in case you need to do some changes in the linking OR if everything is fine, then click on the ‘Finish’ button to save the changes.

Note: This is how the Unit level linking is made for the Homeaway reseller. Making these linkings does not ensure the units are Live as they will only go LIVE once the scheduled Jobs for data-type ‘Availability, Rates and Restrictions’ run successfully. How to configure 'Additional features

Step-by-step:

  1. Open the Integration Manager module

  2. Select ‘Reseller Connection’ under Configuration, here you will see all the existing resellers that you have opted for. Select the reseller you wish to make linking’s for. (Example- Select Booking.com)

  3. Now in Booking.com go to the “Additional Features” card and click on ‘Add Feature’

  4. By clicking on ‘Add feature’ you would see the layout of card is changed and Steps will be visible to add new settings. Here you would see a lot of feature settings under different categories, and these settings are specific to the ‘Reseller’ you are in (in this case Booking.com).

  5. Working of the individual feature settings is mentioned in their description of them, it will give an idea of what the additional impact they have on the connection.

  6. There are two types of settings

    1. A setting where the user needs to only put in the ‘setting value’. Depending upon the setting the value can be numeric, alphanumeric, alphabetic text, Or a toggle button. In below screenshot to enable setting: ‘Enable Bookable Visible Check’ user will just have to turn on the toggle button

    2. Another setting would be a setting which would need a ‘Replace value’, like in below screenshot the setting ‘Exclude Reservable Quantity for DC’ is used to exclude reservability of Accommodation-type per Distribution channel (DC). So here, the user will have to use the DC-code as a ‘Replace value’ and then in ‘Setting value’ field need to specify the numeric value by which he/she need to exclude the reservabilty.

  7. Once the correct values have been entered click on ‘Next step’ button to go to the last step where user can review the setting he/she is about to add. Once the review is done, kindly click on “Finish” button to add the settings. (The user can click on ‘previous step’ to make necessary changes if needed)

How to configure ‘Pricing type information’ for Location

The pricing type is a concept that defines what kind of prices will be sent to the reseller for a specific location. There are two types of pricing types: ‘Per Day Pricing’ and ‘Length Of Stay Pricing (LOS)’.

  • Per day Pricing: When the location is on per-day pricing, the system will pick up prices as they are configured in the ‘Rates Manager’ for the accommodation(s) of that location and export them to the reseller. No discounts or specials are considered when the location is on ‘Per Day’ pricing, as the base price is exported directly.

  • Length Of Stay Pricing (LOS): When the location is on LOS pricing, the system will pick up prices for the accommodation from the Rates Manager. The system will also pick up discounts and specials configured for that accommodation, calculate prices in the ‘Price Cache,’ and then export the lowest prices to the reseller.

Step-by-step process to update ‘pricing type’ for the linked Location:

  1. Open the Integration Manager module

  2. Select ‘Reseller Connection’ under Configuration, here you will see all the existing resellers that you have opted for. Select the reseller you wish to make linking’s for. (Example- Select Booking.com)

  3. Now on Booking.com go to the “Pricing type information” card. In this card you would see all the Location that you have linked to the reseller. You can even filter out data in this card using location & pricing type filter.

     

  4. Whenever any location is linked for the 1st time to a specific reseller system keeps it on ‘Per Day’ pricing as a default. However, you can simply change the same by clicking on field of coulm ‘pricing type’.

    NOTE: ‘Pricing type’ can only be defined on Location level and so it will get applied for all the accommodations under that location.

How to configure 'Linked rate type - reservation category'

Step-by-step:

  1. Open the Integration Manager module

  2. Select ‘Reseller Connection’ under Configuration, here you will see all the existing resellers that you have opted for. Select the reseller you wish to make linking’s for. (Example- Select Booking.com)

  3. Now on Booking.com go to the “Linked rate type - reservation category” card. In this card, you will see all the rate-type that are linked to a specific Reservation category (RC) for the distribution channel (DC) used for the Booking.com reseller. To link the new rate type along with RC, click on the button ‘Link new rate type with reservation category’

  4. Now select the ‘Rate type(s)’ and link it with the ‘Reservation Category’ (RC) from the dropdown list. Then click on ‘Save' to save the changes

    NOTE: Please make sure the rate type and reservation categories are valid for the distribution channel used for the reseller.

How to configure 'Linked Addon'

Step-by-step Instructions:

  1. Access Integration Manager:

    • Open the Integration Manager module.

    • Navigate to Basic Connection Configuration. Here, you'll find a card labeled “Linked Add-ons”.

  2. Initiate Add-on Linking:

    • Click on the Link New Add-on button.

    • You will be prompted to select a location. Once the location is selected, a list of all add-ons available for that location will appear. You can even utilize the other available filter options if necessary.

    • Choose the add-on(s) you wish to link, and then click ‘Next Step’ button.

       

  3. Linking the Add-on to Reseller Connections:

    • In Step 2, you will see the selected add-on(s) alongside a list of available connections to which these add-ons can be linked.

    • Select the appropriate Reseller Connection from the list. Please note that if you don't see your desired connection(s) in the connection list, it means that the add-ons is already linked to that connection.

    • From the dropdown labeled ‘Connection Add-ons’ List, choose the correct connection add-on.

    • Click on ‘Finish’ button to save your configuration.

NOTE: You can link multiple add-ons along with multiple connections at the same time. The connection add-on list is added from the back-end, so you can connect to ‘support connection’ through a Jira ticket in case you have any discrepancy related to the list

How to configure 'Linked accommodation kinds'

Step-by-step Instructions:

  1. Access Integration Manager:

    • Open the Integration Manager module.

    • Navigate to Basic Connection Configuration. Here, you'll find a card labeled “Linked Accommodations kinds”

  2. Initiate accommodation kind Linking:

    • Click on the button 'Link new accommodation kind'.

    • Choose the accommodation kind(s) you wish to link from the available list of accommodation kinds, and then click ‘Next Step’ button.

  3. Linking the accommodation kind to Reseller Connections:

    • In Step 2, you will see the selected accommodation kind(s) alongside a list of available connections to which they can be linked.

    • Select the appropriate Reseller Connection from the list.

    • From the dropdown labeled ‘Connection Property type’, choose the correct connection property to which you want to associate/link the maxxton accommodation kind.

    • Click on the ‘Finish’ button to save your configuration.

NOTE: You can link multiple accommodation kind along with multiple connections at the same time. The connection accommodation kind list is added/updated from the back-end, so you can connect to ‘support connection’ through a Jira ticket in case you have any discrepancy related to the list

How to configure 'Linked Amenities'

Linking of Maxxton amenities along with Reseller amenities can be achieved in two ways.

  1. Through Individual Reseller
    Inside individual reseller configuration, there is a card called “Linked amenities” through which you can link Maxxton Amenities along with Reseller Amenities.

  2. Through ‘Basic connection configuration’
    Through the “Linked amenities“ card of the Basic connection configuration, you would be able to link Maxxton amenities with multiple reseller connections at the same time.

Steps to link amenities through ‘Individual Reseller Configuration’:

  1. Access Integration Manager:

    • Open the Integration Manager module.

    • Navigate to Configuration, select and open the desired Reseller (Example: Booking.com) Here, you'll find a card labeled “Linked Amenities”.

  2. Initiate amenity Linking:

    • Click on the button 'Link new amenities'.

    • Choose the Booking.com amenity(s) by check marking the check-box

    • Now select the appropriate ‘Maxxton Amanity’ from the dropdown

    • Click on ‘Finish’ button to save your configuration.

Steps to link amenities through ‘Basic connection configuration’:

  1. Access Integration Manager:

    • Open the Integration Manager module.

    • Navigate to Basic Connection Configuration. Here, you'll find a card labeled “Linked Amenities”.

  2. Initiate amenity Linking:

    • Click on the button 'Link new amenity'.

    • Choose the amenity(s) you wish to link from the available list of Maxxton amenities, and then click ‘Next Step’ button.

  3. Linking the amenity to Reseller Connections:

    • In Step 2, you will see the selected amenity(s) alongside a list of available reseller connections to which the amenities can be linked.

    • Select the appropriate Reseller Connection from the list. You can select multiple reseller at same time

    • From the dropdown labeled ‘Connection amenity’, choose the correct connection amenity to which you want to associate/link the Maxxton amenity.

    • Click on ‘Finish’ button to save your configuration.
