Distribution Channel Tree structure
Distribution Channels are configured in a tree structure, which allows both grouping and using the inheritance functionality. A tree structure can be designed flexible, depending how a company has structured its sales orientation. Examples of a tree structure are:
Option A: | Option B | |
---|---|---|
Level 1: | Sales market (Country) | DC type (Direct, Internet, OTA's, Travel Agents, ...) |
Level 2: | DC Type (Direct, Internet, OTA's, Travel Agents, ...) | DC (Sales partner) |
Level 3: | DC (Sales partner) |
While designing a tree structure, it is advised to take the advantage of inheritance into account. This reliefs the configuration complexity. To be inherited configuration on DC type-level is:
- Payment terms
- Cancellation terms
- Billing conditions
- Booking conditions
Although inheritance is used, this configuration can be adjusted on individual DC level.
