Introduction
To streamline the reservation process, the system now automatically calculates the age of each travel party member based on their date of birth and the reservation arrival date. It then assigns the appropriate subject category accordingly. This eliminates the need for manual input, ensuring accurate categorization and reducing errors.
Conceptual flow
New reservation
Create a new reservation.
Add a subject.
Enter the subject's date of birth to enable automatic subject category allocation.
Existing reservation
Open an existing reservation.
Add a new subject to the travel party.
Enter the subject's date of birth to enable automatic subject category allocation.
Initial setup
Prerequisites
The auto-allocation functionality for subject categories must be working.
The system must have existing reservations.
Access
New reservations can be created, and existing ones accessed, in the Reservation Manager. The subject's date of birth can also be added within the same module.

Add the date of birth to subjects
Create a new reservation or open an existing one in the Reservation Manager.
Add subjects to the travel party and enter the appropriate date of birth for each subject.
Verification
The subject category is automatically allocated based on the provided date of birth.
Note:
The subject category cannot be updated after allocation.
Changes cannot be saved until the date of birth is entered and a subject category is assigned.
Dependencies/Impacts
Dependencies
There are no additional dependencies beyond those outlined in the prerequisites section.
Impacts
The functionality ensures that the subject category field is updated automatically, eliminating the need for manual adjustments. This not only reduces the risk of errors but also streamlines the reservation process by relieving users of the responsibility to assign subject categories.
Conclusion
With automatic subject category allocation, reservations are now more efficient and error-free. By removing manual categorization, this enhancement simplifies the process, ensures accuracy, and improves the overall user experience.
