Getting Started
To start setting up your Accommodation types, first login into Maxxton Software with your credentials and then navigate to "Content Manager" to start your set up
When you click on "Content Manager", you will be navigated inside. Find the left menu "Accommodation types" to start.
Having trouble viewing the content in Content Manager? If you see blank screen or do not see Content Manager icon in home screen page then kindly contact support@maxxton.com.
In order to switch your session language, click on the User name on the left menu bar on screen. Select "Switch session language" and select the language which you wish you select.
View Accommodation types
- Click on "Employee" in left menu of Backoffice Manager to start.
- You can search the employee with First name, Last name, Login Code, Path. If you wish to search the employee in a specific employee group then apply filter for group (as shown below)
- Default view is list view to display Accommodation types. To view Accommodation types in Tree view, simply click on

Create Accommodation Types
- To create new Accommodation types, click on "Create Accommodation type"
2. Depending on which type of Accommodation you would like to create, carefully choose the below option. Let us understand this with an easy example. Suppose you want to create the following structure for your Accommodation types.
- Apartments
- 4 Pers Apartment
Apartment 1 (Units: 101, 102, 103)
- Apartment 2 (Units: 201, 202, 203)
- Apartment 3 (Units: 301, 302, 303, 304)
- 4 Pers Apartment
Parent Accommodation type
If you wish to create Parent Accommodation types (used for segregation only) then choose the first radio option "New Parent Accommodation type". So looking at the above example, if you wish to create "Apartments" or "4 pers Apartment" then selection of first radio option is important.
- Select first radio option "New Parent Accommodation type" in "Create new Accommodation type" pop up
- Select the Location in which you want to create Parent Accommodation type
- Select Accommodation kind to specify which type of Accommodations will be created under this parent
- Enter the name and code of the Parent Accommodation type. Refer the screenshot below to create the Accommodation type 'Apartments' from our example above
- After creating Parent type 'Apartments', to create '4 Pers Apartment' (as per example above), follow same steps but this time, choose "Parent Accommodation type" as 'Apartments' to create '4 pers Apartment' under parent 'Apartments'
- Click on "Create" to create these parent Accommodation types
To create parent Apartments To create parent 4 Pers Apartment inside Apartments
Accommodation type with Units
Actual bookable Accommodation types can be created by choosing the second radio option "New Accommodation type with Units". So as per our example, when you wish to create Apartment 1, Apartment 2, Apartment 3 along with their units then selection of second radio option is important.
- Select second radio option "New Accommodation type with units"
- Select the Location in which you want to create bookable Accommodation type
- Select the parent Accommodation type under which Accommodation type needs to be created
- Select Accommodation kind to specify the type of Accommodation. Example, Apartment, Bungalow, Tents etc
- Enter the name and code of the Accommodation type. Refer the screenshot below showing the example to create 'Apartment 1'
- To create Units for this Accommodation type, add the "Number of units" which you wish to create under the Accommodation type. In the example above, Apartment 1 has 3 units so number 3 has been entered in "Number of units" field
- Click on "Create" to create this Accommodation type
Accommodation types with Unit quantity (overbooking types or no actual units)
Click on the third radio option if you are creating Accommodation types for overbooking or which do not have actual Units/Unit information but only have the quantity/inventory for the units. The accommodation types mentioned in our example above should not be created with this option.
- Select third radio option "New Accommodation type with unit quantity"
- Select the Location in which you want to create bookable Accommodation type
- Select the parent Accommodation type under which Accommodation type needs to be created
- Select Accommodation kind to specify the type of Accommodation. Example, Apartment, Bungalow, Tents etc
- Enter the name and code of the Accommodation type. Refer the screenshot below showing the example
- To add Unit quantity for this Accommodation type, add the "Number of units" or unit inventory
- Click on "Create" to create this Accommodation type
Note
When you create an Accommodation type with this "New Parent Accommodation type" option then you will not be able to convert it to normal bookable Accommodation type. So it is important to choose the correct option while configuration.
Archive Accommodation Types
- Navigate to the Accommodation Type you want to archive
- Click on the Settings icon
- The Advanced Settings menu will open
- Click on Archive (right corner) to archive the accommodation type
- The Accommodation Type will not be visible anymore in the Accommodation Type list. Select the Archived checkbox to make archived types visible again.
Create Units from Accommodation Types
In the section above, you learned how to create Accommodation types and Units from the Accommodation types menu by clicking on the "Create Accommodation type". This section covers creating Units from specific Accommodation type.
- Select the Accommodation type in which you want to create Units
- Navigate to the Unit card of that Accommodation type. Easy access through the header menu quick access as shown below
- In the Units card, click on Create Unit
- Add Name and code if the unit. Also specify how many units you would like to create.
Frequently Asked Questions
- "Do I always needs to create a parent accommodation type when setting up my content?"
- It is not necessary to always set up a parent accommodation type when setting up your accommodation types in Content Manager. Though if you would like to benefit from setting some configurations at the top level so that its inherited to all child accommodation types then using a parent to club your accommodation types might be useful.
For example, Setting up common amenities at top most level so that they are valid for all child accommodation types.
