Priority management
Priority management is used to boost revenue for your units to set achievable target revenue goals. By using Priority management, you can prioritise which units of your accommodation types should be shown on top when guests are creating reservations on the website.
Pre-requisites
Feature to be abled by Maxxton to start using it
Permission - Content Manager - Unit priority management
Accommodation type rates for the period are configured
Before configuring priority management, the first step is to define your season sets.
Season sets
Season sets are a collection of periods within a book year consisting of ‘Low', ‘Mid’, and 'High’ seasons for a particular year.
Example: For 2024, summer periods starting from 01-07-2023 to 31-08-2023 can be considered as the high seasons.
The season set is linked when you are adding configuration for the accommodation types for priority management for any parameter used for adding priority management.
Tips
You can create a season set based on the seasonality of accommodation types to group similar kinds of accommodation types.
Only by adding the seasons for the new book year in the season set, you can extend your priority management configuration for the linked accommodation types.
Instructions
The steps to set-up priority management in Content Manager
Go to Content Manager > Priority Management
Choose the Location and Accommodation type where you want to add the Priority management configuration. Click on “Setup priority management“
Choose the “Priority management type” as either Target amount, VSI, Contract priority. Find out more about “Priority management types“ (Find out more here)
When using Target amount
Choose Target amount as a parameter and add the target amount to be achieved per Contract type which is linking to the units of the accommodation types
When using VSI for Units
Choose VSI as the parameter and the VSI configured at the unit level will be taken into account to prioritise the units
When using Contract priority
The priority configured at the Contract type level will be taken into account to prioritise the units of the accommodation types that have the higher priority for the linked Contract type
Select the “Year“ to filter the “Priority management season set” to define the period for which the priority management configuration should be linked
Click on “Save configuration“ to save selections
The Priority management configuration will be reflected for the accommodation type in a calendar view along with the defined season labels (High, Mid, Low)
When creating a reservation
This section explains what happens when you create a reservation for the units for which priority management has been configured.
When using Target amount
For the specific Target amount linked to specific contract types for an accommodation type, the contracts where the highest target revenue amount is to be achieved will be shown on top when creating a reservation
As seen, when units start getting reservations, the “Target achieved“ percentage gets updated based on the achieved target revenue turnover with every reservation (as seen below)
This unit priority is dynamic and gets updated with all the reservation turnover amounts and reflected in this view
When occupancy for an accommodation type reaches above 85% then the system switches to Planboard fitting automatically to fit the reservations better on a planning chart and ensure there are less gaps anymore
You can easily identify the missing configuration as the system shows a red exclamation next to the missing configuration for the units
When using VSI for units (Value Scoring Index)
When using VSI, the VSI number is added to each unit within the unit details page.
The priority of each unit is then decided according to the VSI number added to it. The lower the VSI number, the higher will be the priority. Example, if VSI number 1 is added for Unit A and VSI number 5 is added for Unit B, then Unit A will be shown on top when creating a reservation
You can configure the VSI for units by navigating to the Units > Advanced settings (as shown below)
When using Contract priority
When using the Contract type priority number to prioritise the units of an accommodation types belonging to a specific Contract type
Units have the Contract types having lower priority number are displayed on top when creating a reservation. Example, Contract type 1 has priority = 10, Contract type 1 has priority = 20, then units belonging to Contract type 1 will be shown on top when guests make a reservation
Contract priority can be set/changed from Owner Manager > Configuration > Contract types menu
